The GJ Reserve
Driven by their devotion to extraordinary wines, OIC proprietors Gregg Johnson and Brent Wittrock have partnered with California winery Trentadue to craft exclusive wines for Osteria IL Centro and Minsky's Pizza. Their collaboration with famed winemaker Miro Tcholakov has produced two signature wines: OIC's GJ Reserve and Minsky's Pizza Red.
GJ Reserve
The GJ Reserve is a rich and aromatic red with notes of blueberry, blackberry, and black licorice, complemented by hints of herbs, vanilla, and cocoa from French oak aging. Soft tannins and vibrant acidity make it a pleasurable drinking experience year-round.
Pizza Red
Pizza Red is a fruit-forward Rhône-style blend, predominantly composed of old vine Zinfandel, with Petite Sirah, Carignane, and Merlot. It's youthful and bright with approachable notes of black cherry, blueberry, cola, and ripe plums, grounded by hints of vanilla, cocoa, oak, and toast.
Elijah Craig Bourbon Whiskey Private Label
When it comes to bourbon, few compete with the quality and expertise of Elijah Craig, the “Father of Bourbon,” which has been producing that spirit since 1789. OIC's Private Label Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon is velvety smooth and expertly structured, with a warm woodiness accented by soft spice, slight smoke, and a hint of nutmeg.
Rieger Rye Whiskey Private Stock
Another exciting partnership for OIC customers is with J. Rieger, one of Kansas City's very own historic distilleries. In fact, J. Rieger was a whiskey powerhouse even before Prohibition, achieving national success as the largest mail-order whiskey producer in the U.S. Today, J. Rieger continues that tradition, producing sublime whiskeys, including OIC's Private Stock Rye Whiskey. Aged for four years in American oak barrels, it is then transferred to French oak Cabernet casks for 16 months, adding subtle tannins that give the whiskey a creamy finish and mellow the intense rye spiciness.
